I totally need to update my bio on this blog. Aside from being old news (not that much has happened since then but hey) that whole 3rd person shit riles me a little now. Anyway, I’ll do it later. I have important business to attend to first: coffee.

Hate the 3rd person stuff, too.
Another grouse is always referring to an authority, author: maker, by their last name. Takes no time to do the whole name, and less rude. Professional, they say – get off it.

I’m finding it really interesting and somewhat frustrating doing this MA and having to write in a very specific academic fashion. Having to repeat myself and explain myself and have this kind of discourse with the reader that assumes they have no brain. It’s so different to the kind of writing I’m used to in my fiction.

Oh yes: taking pages to spell out what can said by implication and nuance and cultural reference.
They say studying Law kills creativity: most academic study does now, partly through the speed – so much to take in and assimilate, then comment on. You only find out years later what it meant (and much of it not much).
